I believe that part of my life mission is to help people live better and more health lives. It is not an optional topic for me, it is part of my mission and calling. I began my early life in the US Army. I entered the Army to become part of the medical field. I first became a medic, an EMT, and then went on to become a nurse. I spent 10 years serving and the latter years as a nurse and trainer. After leaving the military, I continued in nursing. While not actively a nurse now, I continue to help people understand and live well. On this page you will find some of my teachings on wellness and my core philosophy on fitness and health. I have also listed some of the resources that my family and I use to develop and maintain our wellness. I trust you will be challenged, enlightened, educated, and empowered through this page. The Big Three
There are three things you must start with:
1. Attitude - A Proper Attitude toward Wellness. Wellness begins with a mindset that leads to a balanced approach to maintaining the divine wellness that our bodies have been given. People do not walk in wellness because they do not see, understand, or appreciate what wellness is and why it is important. Develop and Nurture a wellness attitude. 2. Basic Nutrition - A Proper Diet and Movement Plan. You need to understand nutrition. Nutrition directly affects many disease processes and many diseases are directly related to poor nutrition and a lack of movement (also called exercise). Quit eating your way to death. Eat your way to life. Supplement your diet with good antioxidants. This is vital. Antioxidants help protect your body for the things that destroy your cells and open you to disease. 3. Care of the Body - When the body starts to malfunction, it is important to immediately listen to and understand its signals. The first way we care for our body is through Prayer. Studies show that prayer and overall healing are medically connected. Immediately apply prayer when you feel your body is out of order. Second, we must get some professional advise so that we know how to specifically pray and what to do for our body. No one likes going to the doctor. No one likes sitting in an emergency room or doctors office while you are feeling sick and with a bunch of other sick people, with sicknesses you do not want to add to your body. Consider telemedicine ( See a great solution here) as an alternative to having to run to the doctor every time there is a problem. Consider natural herbs and other remedies that are beneficial and cost effective.
