Seeds of faith were deposited into me as a young boy by my Grandmother, Lucille Sutton. I remember as a boy, watching television at her home and hearing the gospel message and the preacher looking straight in the camera as if saying to me, "Something Good is going to happen to you!" Their words penetrated my heart but it would not be until 1981. in the living room of Pastor Jim Colley, that I would hear the simplicity of God's love for me and plan for my life and would decide to follow Him. I had a true experience with God the following two weeks that transformed and revolutionized my life. Later, as an Army soldier, I would mature under the ministry of Pastor Garvis Campbell, who would later become my pastor, spiritual father, and father-in-law. The simplicity and power of his messages would further transform my life and set my heart aflame for God, His Word, a relationship with the Holy Spirit, and later the call to ministry. During my early years as a Christian, while yet in the Army, early mornings before nursing school classes began and lunch time found me in my little Subaru feasting on teaching and God's Word. I was determined to know God and to serve Him with my whole heart. That is still my quest and commitment these many years later. I am still on the journey. Despite the bends, hills, mountains, and sometimes rough terrain, the Holy Spirit has held my hand and Jesus has continued to call my name. I am His. He is mine.
